I am reading a book a friend gave me called "Grown-Up Girlfriends" by Smalley & Oliver. It encourages you to find out what pushes your buttons and what reaction you have when your buttons are pushed. Do you blame someone, are you sarcastic, etc. What I thought was really good was that she gave an example of a time when she had her feelings hurt. When her friend asked how she was, she said, "fine" which really means: feelings inside not expressed! I've heard that we should allow ourselves to be open, honest and vulnerable, but what does that mean? The author explained it this way - what she really should have said to her friend was, "My feelings are hurt, but this is an issue I'm going to work through with God's help. You are not responsible for how I feel." Wow! I hope I can have the courage to say that the next time someone pushes one of my buttons (rejection, devalued, etc.)!

Chocolate & a Chick Flick raised $100 for Katie Jo last night! Thank you girls!
As you know, Greg has been pondering hiring someone to help him. He really feels like God told him to do it while he was at a men's retreat a few months ago. Well, yesterday God told him to do it NOW. So, he spent the day getting all the files together that Dan would need to do a grading plan for one of Greg's clients. Greg met with Dan this morning and Dan told him that this is all God's timing because his boss told him yesterday that their company isn't doing very well and will only be able to give him one more full paycheck. They want him to keep coming to work, but are going to allow him to work on some of his own projects while he is there! Greg thought Dan would have to do this work on weekends and evenings, and that Dan would have to buy his own software to work at home. God had a better plan!
We do have a prayer request. Greg is going to Honduras in 5 weeks (June 19-26). Greg is pretty sure that our marriage will be under spiritual attack in the coming weeks. Please pray for protection for our marriage, health & safety. Thank you!
